Wendy Dowling

Wendy is constantly amazed by the exciting way glass art offers the opportunity to create unique pieces of work using this versatile medium. Her love of creating pieces which have texture, colour and movement shine through in all of her work. Inspired by textural art, Wendy incorporates patterns and designs into each individually crafted piece that she designs by carefully selecting colour, pattern and form to create vibrant and original kiln-formed glass.
Being continually inspired by the way in which the glass evolves to form a unique statement which captures a moment of her creative process has led Wendy to discover new techniques and create vibrant and unusual work. The versatility of working with glass and the ability to create “one of a kind pieces” to suit individual client needs is exciting and inspiring to her.
Wendy lives and works in Hertfordshire as an artist and primary school teacher. Her art career began with watercolours some fifteen years ago leading her to teach others this technique and then to complete an access course where she explored other media and developed an interest in print making and textiles in addition to glass.
